Since President Bush took office, and with the countless “Free Trade Agreements” negotiated by his Administration, the American economy has shed millions of jobs, with many being outsourced when large and profitable corporations relocate operations to foreign countries where workers get paid less and have little or no benefits. America is losing some of our best jobs to off-shoring, which is also driving down wages and benefits at home.

One area of great concern is the seemingly growing trend to reward U.S. businesses with lucrative defense contracts, only to have certain companies cut jobs and send work abroad. Congressman Tierney has been fighting to see that defense-related work is completed by U.S. workers. Congressman Tierney has offered amendments to the annual defense bill seeking to sustain, revitalize and grow the U.S. defense industrial base. He believes that our efforts to secure and defend our country is, and have always been, best accomplished by the tens of thousands U.S. defense workers, who through their hard work have built America's defense infrastructure to one that is unrivaled in the world.
