Spring 2008 Community Meetings!

Monday, April 7, 2008

Dear Friend:

The New Direction Congress has already passed a bipartisan economic stimulus package to help hardworking Americans, jumpstart our slowing economy and help create 500,000 American jobs by the end of the year. The stimulus is a first step to boosting the economy and saving jobs, but I know that long-term investments are needed to achieve enduring economic stability. A strengthened economy is only achievable through policies that respect and give value to your time, labor and money.

This is why I am working with my colleagues in the U.S. House of Representatives on initiatives to invest in our workforce through green industries, stabilize the value of our homes, drive us toward independence from foreign oil and invest in our children — carefully rebuilding our infrastructure to support our economy today and tomorrow.

Join me for a community meeting in your area to discuss and learn more about how we are working to make our economy stronger and more secure.
